Flowering Shrub Cures Cancer
Has a Reliable Cancer Cure Been
Available for 3,500 Years?
In the early 1960’s, Turkish doctor Huseyin Ziya Ozel stumbled on an ancient medical remedy while searching for a cure for his dog’s cancer. Now his discovery is a remarkable new cancer treatment that seems to be the real deal. . .
Continued below. . .
“When I took this new nutrient, I expected it to fight my cold. It did. But what I didn’t expect was the remarkable energy boost I got from it!
I hardly ever get colds anymore. In fact, I haven’t missed a day of work in over four years.
Is this strong immunity due to my “good genes”? Hardly. For most of my life, I used to get a cold every winter … every spring … every fall. They’d last for weeks.
Then one day, I discovered an amazing new nutrient that was developed by Dr. Isaac Eliaz.
Now I rarely get sick anymore. And when I do, it’s just a mild cold that passes swiftly.
But as delighted as I am by the immune support, I’m even more delighted at the energy boost I get from this formula.
So what is this new super nutrient?
Dr. Ozel noticed that many Turkish patients referred to him with skin cancer came from areas of higher elevation. The villagers at lower elevations didn’t seem to have this problem.
He thought there must be a connection between the cancer cases and the environment. When Dr. Ozel investigated a bit further, he found that folks living at lower altitudes used a drink made from a plant that didn’t grow at higher elevations.
Ozel’s fascination with the Nerium oleander plant prompted further study. He initially conducted studies on live animals to determine the toxicology and effects of the plant.
Later he developed different forms of treatment to test on terminal human cases.
These studies convinced him that he’d found an amazing remedy to treat a variety of diseases including arthritis, hepatitis C, psoriasis and several forms of cancer!
When Dr. Ozel presented study findings and success stories to the medical community—you can imagine the skepticism he faced!
But Ozel didn’t let their doubts discourage his efforts. In 1974, he published case reports on the benefits of Nerium oleander extract (NOE) in the Turkish medical journal Dirim.
That same year he even resigned as Chief Doctor at Mugla State Hospital to dedicate more time to researching NOE.
Ozel’s NOE tests, performed in Europe during 1986-1987, proved that the plant extract effectively battled cancer tumors and boosted the immune system.
The studies further showed oleander was at least six times as potent as the commercially available immune stimulants Schizophylan, Krestin and Lentinan, patented by the Japanese in the 1980s.
The results of Dr. Ozel’s research helped underscore the value of natural medical remedies. But he was hardly the first person to tap into the healing properties of the oleander plant…
An ancient health secret REVEALED!
Oleander’s medicinal use stretches back at least 3,500 years. Mesopotamians in the 15th century BC were known to trust the healing properties of oleander.
If you live in a warm climate or you’ve visited one, and you’re the kind of person who notices plants, you’re familiar with oleander. Widely used in yards and gardens, the shrub gets quite large and is covered with flowers most of the year.
The colors range from bright, deep pink or red to pure white. The plant is toxic and can cause nasty blisters if you handle it without gloves — but it’s truly beautiful, and easy to grow. That’s why it’s so popular.
Pliny the Elder, an ancient Romans naturalist, wrote about the appearance and properties of oleander. Ancient Babylonians and Roman used oleander to treat hangovers.
Historical records also show Arab physicians first used oleander as a cancer treatment in the 8th century AD.
Ozel followed their lead—developing the patented NOE medicine Anvirzel™, which was successful in treating 70% of cancer patients who had not received chemotherapy.
So what makes oleander so effective at clobbering cancer cells? In 1988, a research team at Munich University Pharmacology Institute set out to answer this question.
The researchers isolated the active components in the oleander extract. They found several polysaccharides—also called cardiac glycosides—that impact immune activity.
The team presented their initial findings at a July 1990 symposium of Biology and Chemistry of Active Natural Substances (BACANS), held in Bonn, Germany. The presentation was later published in Planta Medica 1990-56:66.
The researchers said no single component of the oleander extract provided all its benefits. Rather, the cancer-fighting properties are stimulated by a blend of extract components that help regulate the immune system.
And more recent studies support this conclusion…
Japanese studies support oleander’s
top-notch cancer-fighting skills…
One study conducted by researchers at Japan’s Niigata University evaluated the effect of 13 oleander compounds against fibroblast, liver and ovarian cancer cells. The results?
- Seven oleander compounds showed anti-cancer activity against the fibroblast tumors.
- Four compounds selectively slowed the growth of fibroblast tumors.
- Three compounds were active against liver tumor cells.
- Three compounds showed significant effects on calcein accumulation in MDR (multi-drug-resistant) human ovarian cancer cells.
In fact, one of the oleander compounds proved stronger than the calcium channel blocker Verapamil that doctors use to help kill cancer cells1.
In the second study2, one of oleander’s pregnane compounds was significantly toxic against fibroblasts and liver cancer cells. What’s more, researchers found three of the pregnanes gave ovarian cancer cells a serious thumping.
“NOT SO FAST!” says the FDA…
Despite growing reams of scientific and anecdotal evidence—you still can’t buy Anvirzel™ and other oleander extracts in the U.S.
Because Doctor Ozel called his patented, trademarked product a “cancer cure” as opposed to a natural supplement, the FDA considers oleander an unproven medicine.
Because of the toxic nature of the raw plant, the medical watchdogs insist its safety and effectiveness be proven to their satisfaction—even before they’ll consent to its use as an herbal supplement!
In 2000, Ozelle Pharmaceuticals conducted successful Phase I FDA trials conducted on Anvirzel, but later had problems with its investors and had to reorganize.
In the meantime, competitor Phoenix Biotech patented Anvirzel in Honduras and also has applied for a U.S. patent. The company established the Salud Integral clinic in Honduras to use Anvirzel in treating patients with various cancers, hepatitis-C, psoriasis and other immune disorders.
If the FDA has its way, it could be YEARS before an oleander-based medicine gets approved. In the meantime, some folks have traveled to Honduras for treatment.
Others have even researched Ozel’s original patent and brewed their own oleander soup!
A book called Cancer’s Natural Enemy, by Tony M. Isaacs, purportedly describes how to make an oleander-based medicine “at home on your stovetop.” Give how toxic the plant is, I don’t advise this. The only reason I mention it at all is that many readers get enthusiastic and go on the Web to find out more. If you come across do-it-yourself recipes for oleander — just remember, they aren’t recommended by Cancer Defeated. I haven’t tried them and I don’t know anyone who has.
In any case, you’re now in on an ancient secret for clobbering cancer. And even if it’s impossible to find in the U.S.—Anvirzel IS available in other areas.
